Tree of Buried Secrets by Cassie Exline

Tree of Buried Secrets
by Cassie Exline

This is a beautiful story of love, murder, and secrets. At first it was a little hard to follow but once you get the flow, it’s ok. The description is very well done. Bring you right into the book. I have to admit after reading the first couple chapters I saw part of the ending coming, but part was also a great twist.
Unfortunately I have to knock off half a point for the use of the term “love button”. This almost lost me, and I had to snicker a little.
I give this 4 ½ Delightful Divas

Julia races to their rendezvous site as if the devil is nipping at her heels. Tonight she and Alex are going to elope. Her heart soars when she spots Alex waiting for her by the apple tree. She calls out his name and he hurries to her, wrapping his strong arms around her. Instead of fleeing, Alex wants to make love to her one more time at the same spot where they met, fell in love, and surrendered to each their desires. Julia wants to keep going, but Alex’s lips silence her protests while his hands seek to bring her to heights of ecstasy. He sucks and bites at her nipples while his fingers explore between her legs. She pulls him close, wanting to be as near to his body as possible. The white blossoms serve as their bed, releasing a heady fragrance into the night air, and the tree as a witness. Afterwards he stands to dress and she leans back on her elbows to watch him. He teases her that he's going to make love to her again and again. She laughs and squeezes her breasts together to tease him. Fire burns in Alex's eyes. Julia pinches her nipples while dreaming of days and nights of endless rapture. A thunderous crack shatters the night, spawning years of torment, generations of secrets. Julia never told anyone what happened that night, but today might be the day she confesses.
